As I turn 60 today
My hair used to be brown and glossy
But it has now all turn brittle and white
Brown spots appear on my face
When it used to be fair and bright
My waist and tummy have expanded
While my bosom has drooped and shrunk
My legs used to be slim and slender
Now they are more like tree trunks
My eyes used to see signs a mile away
Now they are blurry with cataracts
My mind is fuzzy - what am I about to say ?
Oh yes- I used to remember details and facts
I used to hear my kids turned in their sleep
Now the volume has to be on high
My teeth could tear sugarcane to bits
Now I have to content with porridge and pie
On 5-inch heels I used to swagger and sway
Now comfort is all I buy and care
My clothes used to be figure-hugging
Now they are light loose and flair
I have lived my life to the fullest
I have been there and done that
Now that 60 is here to greet me
I am thankful for what I have and had
Age is not stopping me from living life
Despite wobbly knees and spreading fat
There are still things to do, places to visit
Now off I go with my purple hat
